UNM will host Free Application for Student Federal Aid (FAFSA) Workshops from January-February to help students and families complete their FAFSA before the UNM FAFSA priority date of March 1. All help is provided free to students and their families. For the 2024-25 FAFSA year, the FAFSA is delayed from its typical Oct 1 release date; it will be available beginning December 31, 2023 instead.

 UNM FAFSA Workshops

Individual Appointments available every Sunday Night: appointments are a 40-minute timeslot (starting at 4:30-, 5:10 or 5:50pm [MT]); a UNM Financial Aid staff member will join to help you complete your FAFSA and answer your questions. These workshops run January 7, 2024 – February 25, 2024.  

Virtual Walk-ins available daily Monday-Thursday: 2:00-5:00 pm (MT); virtual walk-ins allow you to drop in without an appointment to receive help completing your 2024-25 FAFSA. These workshops run January 8, 2024 – February 29, 2024

FAFSA Workshop Virtual Evening Appointments:

Individual Appointments available every Wednesday and Thursday Nights: appointments are a 40-minute timeslot (starting at 5:00-, 5:40 or 6:20pm [MT]); a UNM Financial Aid staff member will join to help you complete your FAFSA and answer your questions. These workshops run through January 3, 2024 - February 29, 2024.

 *No FAFSA sessions will be held on Martin Luther King Jr Day

• Your Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID that can be obtained at https://fsaid.ed.gov
• Social Security Number(s)
• Driver’s Licenses
• Completed 2022 tax forms. (in lieu of tax forms, W2s to assist with estimating income)
• Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
• Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
